The Prairie House

The prairie house is based on a scalar transformation of a repetitive singular module, to create programmatic differentiation. The basic module is based on a simple modification of the traditional pitched roof house, creating a variation in height depending on program needs. The various modules interlock to create the larger main house and operate in isolation for the smaller guest houses. The various houses are placed on elongated thin platforms, that extend and cantilever beyond the steep topography, acting as an outdoor extension to the interior, and a vista to observe the surrounding landscape.
