Freetown Masterplan

The Freetown Masterplan project is based on a modular system of shifting volumes within arc-shaped slabs spanning the entire site. Each arc holds a different program including detached dwellings, courtyard apartments, a number of public amenities and a furnished apartment hotel. The arcs allow the phasing of construction based on the desire and budget of the client. The thick slabs act as the unifying elements of the various programs creating a singular identity for the project. The flexible modules within these arcs allow for programmatic interchangeability should there be a need to replace one program with another in future phases. Punctured by courtyards of varied sizes, the modules shift creating a broad range of outdoor terraces. They also act as oversized planters that extend the landscape from the center to the periphery of the living spaces.
